Role of magnetic resonance imaging brain in children with developmental delay

Background: Developmental delay is one of the most common conditions encountered by paediatricians. It defined as significant in or more developmental domains. Evaluation such children with neuroimaging important to come a specific diagnosis. Early identification and diagnosis have implications for better treatment parental counselling regarding outcome. This study aims observe various findings magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain depict aetiology delay. Methods: A hospital based retrospective observational study, was carried out Kamineni institute medical sciences, Narketpally among 40 aged between 6 months 12 years, features MRI done were later classified into etiological subgroups. Results: Normal morphological seen only 12.5% Abnormal 87.5%, which 40% showed metabolic degenerative disorders, 37.5% depicted congenital malformations, 10% them infectious aetiology.
